Against Breast Cancer supporters Jenna and Amy have raised the amazing amount of £2,008 by organising a Breast Tea Ever event which took place at their local pub The Redan Inn in Chilcompton, near Radstock in Somerset.
The event included a raffle where lots of amazing prizes were donated, including a three-night stay in Cornwall, a Mulberry Purse and many more goodies. 150 people attended and the money was raised within a fantastic two and a half hours!
Jenna and her family are keen supporters of the charity after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, Jenna’s Dad has also raised a huge amount for us with his challenge in May last year by walking 700,000 for his 70th birthday.
Jenna said “we were very kindly invited down to Southampton to see what our money was being used for. This gave me more incentive to raise more funds as the research being done is incredible and I want to keep it going, hence why we decided to do a ‘Breast Tea Ever’ morning. I am overwhelmed with people’s generosity and will continue to raise as much awareness and funds for breast cancer as possible”
Amy, Jenna’s best friend wanted to support and help Jenna raise as much money as possible for the event and said: “When Dame Deborah James sadly lost her battle with bowel cancer at the end of June, the grief and reality was a very emotional time but more so for Jenna, who has, for a few years been experiencing her own cancer journey. I said to Jenna at the time that I would do anything with her that she chooses in memory of Dame Deborah so I was very relieved when she asked if I would help her host a “Breast Tea Ever” rather than do a bungee jump.”
So, we would like to say a HUGE thank you from us all here at Against Breast Cancer to Jenna and Amy for raising such an incredible amount with their Breast Tea Ever and for continuing to support the charity in the future.
