4 Men, 4 Bikes, 48 Hours
Congratulations to Mark, Ian, Graham and Simon, the 4 man team from The Body Training Studio (BTS) in Wallingford for completing a truly gruelling challenge of endurance.
We are incredibly proud of the team who took on the epic 4 Men, 4 Bikes, 48 Hours non-stop cycling challenge event in support of Against Breast Cancer, each rider completed a staggering 400 miles and the team raised over £16,000 in the process!
The 4 Men, 4 Bikes, 48 Hours challenge took place over the weekend of 12 – 14 July to coincide with the ever-popular Wallingford Festival of Cycling in Oxfordshire, a celebration of all that is cycling with the aim of getting more people from the local area into the saddle each year.
The challenge itself was completed on road bikes around rural Oxfordshire during daylight hours and on static bikes within the BTS gym during hours of darkness. Challenge organiser and gym owner Mark O’Hanlon, who is no stranger to fundraising ran the hugely popular Train the Trainer event earlier this year was very grateful for the public support;
In our sleepy hours of need the whole community was incredibly generous, with many bringing in food throughout the night to help keep energy levels up
The BTS team smashed their £10,000 target and were overwhelmed by the local support they received and wanted to thank all of their friends, family as well as their sponsors; The Old Post Office (Wallingford), Grundon, St Edwards – Highcroft Wallingford, Beyond, Higgs Printing and Office Supplies, Pankhurst Cycles, Russel Partnership Consulting, Craigewan, Harwell Science and Innovation Campus and Carey Group.
Donations can still be made to The 4 Men, 4 Bikes, 48 Hours online fundraising page which is still accepting donations, although Mark – who clearly has energy to burn isn’t done yet, why not join him and the BTS team as they take part in the Breast Walk Ever Oxfordshire which takes place on Sunday 8 September.
