The Charity Angels fundraising group held their first event in November – the ‘Lunch for Lesley‘, in honour of Lesley Seville – and the event was a huge success with £52,000 raised for two charities, including Against Breast Cancer.
As well as a stunning catwalk show, there was a whole host of entertainment including the one and only Tony Christie and West End superstar Cassidy Janson. The audience were up on their feet dancing and singing along to all the classics.
The fundraising on the night included a bingo, a raffle and a very successful auction. In total the event raised an astonishing £52,000, with Against Breast Cancer and the Bob Potters Charity Trust each received a donation of £26,000. After a difficult couple of years, this is a major boost to our research.
Kelly Gibson, Against Breast Cancer’s Head of Fundraising said “I was lucky enough to attend the event, it was a brilliant lunch which went without a hitch and was a lovely way to remember their dear friend, Lesley. We at Against Breast Cancer are delighted with the amount raised and the donation we received it will go towards our vital research into secondary spread breast cancer. We thoroughly enjoyed work with the Charity Angels and hearing how breast cancer has effected them all, we would welcome working with them again”
A huge thanks to the ladies in Charity Angels for their fantastic fundraising efforts. To see full photos and highlights from the day visit the Charity Angels Facebook page.
