Mariane Armstrong-Holmes and her husband John, founders of Jive Addiction, very kindly supported Against Breast Cancer by hosting ‘Bust a Move,’ a fun dance category competition which took place in March this year at the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Dancers each paid £10.00 to enter and were paired up randomly with a partner on the dance floor before dancing modern jive to a few tracks throughout each round. Judges eliminated couples after each round until only 5 couples were left in the final.
The winners were chosen by whichever couple the audience cheered the loudest for! The winning couple were presented with free passes to the 2025 competition.

Mariane said “We chose Against Breast Cancer as our charity this year at the World Modern Jive Championships because there have been a considerable number of ladies in our dance community who have recently been diagnosed with or are recovering from the disease. We wanted to help the charity find a cure or at least better treatments and raise awareness”
They also very kindly collected 2 large bags of bras, which were taken to their local Against Breast Cancer Bra Bank!
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Mariane and John, to all the dancers who took part and to everyone who attended the event which raised a fantastic £1720.
