Karen is a 51-year-old GP from Hampshire. 10 years after her primary diagnosis this year she was diagnosed with secondary spread breast cancer in her sternum, chest wall and lungs.
Undeterred, Karen ran her first marathon just months later and in September, Karen set herself the goal of running three more marathons in a calendar year. Her first in November took her to the beautiful city of Florence. Next up will be London in April and Berlin in September.
In her role as our first Sports Ambassador, Karen has kindly agreed to share her experiences as she balances family and professional life with training and treatment.
