In May, we were delighted to collaborate with fabulous dance teacher Emma Dodds from The Dance Collective in Sutton Coldfield who offer a superior quality of dance training for students of all ages and abilities.
The Dance Collective had to close its doors following government advice to shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Emma refusing to be beaten went virtual and turned three of her weekly ballet classes ‘Play it Pink’, asking all her dancers to wear pink to demonstrate the ‘Breast of Ballet’. Over the course of the week, over £100 was raised for Against Breast Cancer! We cannot thank you enough for all your support.
Hosting a Facebook Live dance class via @thedancecollectiveTDC, over 16 students tuned in to learn the ‘Breast of Ballet’ and raised vital funds for Against Breast Cancer’s research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer related deaths.
Lovely to dance with you virtually today Emma, especially for such a worthy cause!
Focussing on creativity and imagination with classes in creative movement and contemporary dance, The Dance Collective develops dancers aged from just 6 months old in Baby Ballet to Silver Swans, aged 55 and over!
From guided movement and sensory play to improving mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels, and whether dance is your hobby, passion, or a past-time you hope to recapture, Emma teaches classes designed to inspire you to move. Research has shown that dance can play a vital role in ensuring a longer and better quality of life too. We couldn’t agree more and what a great way to get active!
