A chat in the pub between friends, led Rachael Paskin, Juliet Hamilton, and Andy Aliffe, – all fans of the film calendar girls – to decide this was something they wanted to re-create for themselves to raise funds for charity.
Andy contacted creative photographer Mark Page and the wheels were set in motion. Models, venues, hair, and make-up artists all booked, and over the following months Bucks Buxom Belles Calendar was born. It was agreed when the calendars went on sale, the proceeds would be shared between two charities, Against Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer UK.
Asked how they enjoyed the experience, the Bucks Buxom Belles replied “Thank you for giving us the very enjoyable but very poignant chance to raise money for you. We were and are delighted to be able to donate £2000 to fund your research.
Such has been their success, The Bucks Buxom Belles are not done yet! Not be silenced, they have negotiated their own radio show on Wycombe Sound where we will be heralding all the good things happening in their home county of Buckinghamshire. The show will be interspersed with women’s chat, health issues and general entertainment for all. They thank everyone for their interest and support and invite them to join the Belles on this very exciting journey by finding them on Facebook.
On behalf of Against Breast Cancer we would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone involved in the making of this calendar. To all the supporters for purchasing them and for the incredible amount you have raised to support our research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer related deaths.
