Congratulations to the family and friends of Abigail Macey for cycling from London to Brighton in memory of Abi recently.
The team of six completed the 55-mile challenge raising over £2000 in memory of Abi who lost her battle with cancer in January 2021
Abi passed away after she had battled breast cancer for six and a half years, she was just a few months short of what would have been her 40th birthday. Despite this, her family felt that by using both traditional and trial drugs, it would have taken her much earlier.
Abi was originally treated at Portsmouth, she was moved on recommendation to Southampton after which she switched to St Barts to take part a clinical trial. It was because of the Southampton connection that her family chose to fundraise for Against Breast Cancer.
We all have such wonderful memories of Abi. She was such a strong determined woman who loved life, her family and friends. This dreadful disease finally beat Abi in 2021 after she battled it for six and a half years, using both traditional and trial drugs, without which, we are sure she would have been taken from us much earlier. We are proud to support Against Breast Cancer in the work that they do.David, Abi’s Dad
