The Take 30 campaign, which took place throughout January, saw our supporters took one small act each day, and pledged to raise £30 each. This was so that together they could make a big difference and contribute to research focussing on prevention, earlier detection, and improved therapies for secondary spread breast cancer.
Each challenge aimed to promote taking time for ourselves for 30 minutes each day and encompassed one of the themes of Take 30; contribute to your cause, get organised, plan your 2024, reflect and recharge, reach out to loved ones, and move your body.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined us on this challenge,” said Bryony Jones from Against Breast Cancer. “It was great to see people try new things as they took 30 minutes for themselves each day.”
Amongst other challenges, supporters tried yoga, made goals for 2024, reorganised their wardrobe, cooked their favourite meals and sat down to read a book with their 30 minutes each day. In total, they raised £255 for the charity.
“Seeing people in the challenge community on Facebook supporting each other throughout January was fantastic,” said Richard Martin, Events Manager at Against Breast Cancer. “We aim to create more fundraiser challenges like this in the future and create a space where our valued supporters are encouraged to pour back into their own cup as they give so much dedication and commitment to the cause.”
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in Take 30. All funds raised will go towards our vital research into secondary spread breast cancer.
