On Sunday 4th September we welcomed over 120 walkers to Wallingford as the Breast Walk Ever made its long-awaited return. Three years on from the last event, it was fantastic to welcome faces old and new as well as a number of dogs to take on one of three brand new routes. Participants could choose from a marathon, half marathon or 10KM walk, all starting and finishing in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
The walkers enjoyed near perfect conditions as the extreme heat of previous weeks had thankfully subsided. There was even the occasional shower to keep them cool!
Each route took in a mixture of the Chiltern Way, The Ridgeway and The Thames Path. With a good mixture of flat riverside paths, open fields and rocky, tree-lined trails, there really was something for everyone. Walkers were treated to a selection of well stocked support stops along the way too at North Stoke, Goring-on-Thames, Whitchurch Hill and Moulsford.
All were welcomed back to the finish with a well-earned medal and a glass of something cold. It was wonderful to see so many enjoying the evening sunshine after a job well done and we were delighted to receive lots of positive feedback.
“I came close to contracting type 2 Diabetes and the walk prep came just at the right time as extra exercise was recommended. The walk went perfect, helped by excellent organisation, I will definitely be back next year to add to my collection of medals.”

Over £12,000 has been raised from the event so far towards our ground-breaking research into secondary spread breast cancer, the main cause of breast cancer-related deaths. We would like to thank our team of wonderful volunteers, without whom the return of the Breast Walk Ever simply wouldn’t have been possible, and also our event sponsors, MKM and the Exclusive Services Group.
We also want to thank our wonderful walkers for supporting the event this year. We cannot wait to start plans to make Breast Walk Ever bigger and better in 2023. Please keep an eye on the Breast Walk Ever website and our social channels for updates.
