Thank you to everyone for sending us your unwanted or unloved bras over lockdown.
Over the past twelve months we have been amazed by the number of bras we’ve received. So are the Royal Mail, they had to change their daily delivery routes just to make sure your donations could fit on one van!
In what has been a very difficult year for everyone, it is incredible that people have taken the time to think about fundraising for us. We have been inundated with bras of every style, shape and colour. All of them now raising money for research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer related deaths.
We hope it won’t be too long before many of the shops, offices, schools and sports centres where over five hundred of our bra banks are located will soon reopen. We look forward to working with all of our bra bank holders once again, you are all essential businesses to us!
During February alone about 700KG of bras arrived at our offices, and thanks to our very small but passionate team of staff and volunteers they have been now been sorted, packed and collected by our recycling partners Recycling Clothes Company, generating almost £500 towards our research.
Providing a new home for your unwanted and unloved bras couldn’t be easier, just pop them in a jiffy bag or box and post them to us. Donations are based on weight, so more bras we receive, the more research we can fund.
