Thank you to our wonderful supporter Yvonne who pledged to do a headshave for her sister to raise funds for Against Breast Cancer.
Yvonne decided to do a headshave in memory of her sister who sadly passed away earlier this year. Yvonne’s sister, Krysia, was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago, she underwent chemotherapy and surgeries and had a tough time. But she recovered well enough to enjoy a few more happy years, always out and about meeting friends and family and always smiling.
The rapid progress of this disease shocked us all and she was taken from us too soon on March 12th.
Yvonne
In February of this year she had a blood test because she felt fatigued, then several other scans led to the diagnosis of secondary cancer in her liver and bones. The rapid progress of this disease shocked us all and she was taken from us too soon on March 12th.
Yvonne wanted to raise awareness of secondary cancers and pay tribute to her wonderful sister, by doing a headshave. The message she shared with her supporters, “For those of you who know me well, you will understand how hard this challenge will be as my hair, although short, is also my crowning glory! As soon as £250 is donated I will shave my head, film it and share it with you.”
Yvonne’s message was clearly heard, she went above and beyond her target and raised over £2500 which is absolutely incredible.
Yvonne recorded her headshave for her supporters and wanted to share the film with us, you can watch here: For my big sis Krysia
Thank you so much Yvonne you are an inspiration!
