The Goring Gap Run and Trail Weekender, on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May, is a fantastic entry-level event for the ultra distance with shorter walking options available.
There are two great scenic ultra runs: one 52K route and a new 50-mile ultra-marathon challenge. Additionally there are Marathon or Half Marathon walks, plus a relaxed Half Marathon run meaning there truly is something for everyone over the weekend. All options start and finish in a beautiful riverside race village with free parking, weekend camping, catering and a bar!
Goring Gap Run 50 Mile Ultra – Saturday 17th May 2025
50-mile ultra loop using the Thames Path, Ridgeway, and Chiltern Way with just one small section of out and back. Support Stations are at village halls along the route. Start times are from 6.00 am with a 14-hour cut-off time. The route will be fully signed, and all participants will have access to GPX files.
Camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights.

Goring Gap Walk – Saturday 17th May 2025
Open to all types of walkers, casual, challenge, ramblers, nordic walkers, cani-walkers and long-distance walkers. You can even jog it if you feel fit enough. You won’t need navigation skills, as the route will be well signposted. Choose between two distances: a marathon of (26 miles or a half marathon of 13 miles). Both routes are incredibly scenic and pass along woodland trails, riverside paths and through historic riverside villages.
The walks share the event village, catering, parking and bar with the runs for the weekend. Camping is available if required. The starts are 8:30 am for the marathon and 10:00 am for the half marathon.

Goring Gap 52K Ultra – Sunday 18th May 2025
Perfect for first-timers with enough of a challenge for regular ultra runners. It is a looped route so you finish where you start at the riverside race village. The route uses the Thames Path and Ridgeway national trails, it is mostly flat and a mix of trail, footpaths and quiet lanes.
Support Stations are at village halls along the route. Start times are from 8:00 am with an 8.5-hour cut-off time.
A GPX file is available for all participants and the route is fully signed.

Half Marathon – Sunday 18th May 2025
A friendly, scenic and relaxed half marathon with no cut-off times. If you would like to run a half without racing or the pressure of going for a time, then this is the ideal event for you.
Run with friends, a running partner or make friends along the way. Start time from 10:00 am. Free parking within 50m of the start/finish. Lovely bespoke finisher medals. Fully signed flat route.
